A New Chapter for Paces Crafts

Turning Challenges into Opportunities

When we set up our business in India back in 2016, we believed our experience running a handicrafts workshop in Peru had prepared us well. But India presented a whole new set of challenges.

Over the years, we built the workshop from the ground up—experimenting with different techniques, materials, and product lines. Still, the journey was far from easy. Remote management, supply chain hurdles, and the complexity of operating within India’s business landscape continually tested our resilience. Despite many creative pivots and unwavering determination, maintaining profitability proved difficult.

As we were navigating some key decisions for the future, a promising partnership emerged in early 2024. We've kept it under wraps—until now. We've been excited to share that a new chapter is beginning for Paces Crafts.

Welcoming Reed Kraft and Cecily as Managing Director –

A New Chapter Begins

We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Reed Kraft, a local partner based in Ranchi with international experience and a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. The company celebrates contemporary design rooted in traditional techniques, with a focus on natural fibers, market relevance, and quality craftsmanship.

Backed by a skilled team and international sales channels, Reed Kraft brings industry knowledge and product development capabilities. Their approach aligns closely with our values—combining commercial insight with a commitment to social impact and sustainable growth.

As part of this partnership, Reed Kraft will take the lead on operations at Paces Crafts, bringing new energy, structure, and direction to the workshop. Their involvement will help us scale our efforts, strengthen on-the-ground support, and build long-term sustainability—while staying true to our mission of empowering local communities through craft.

We’re also excited to welcome Cecily as Managing Director. She brings over 15 years of experience living and working in Jharkhand, where she has supported marginalized communities through craft, helping artisans reclaim dignity and purpose through their skills. In past roles, she collaborated with leading brands like Fabindia and IKEA, and was part of the pioneering team that first supplied bamboo and water hyacinth products to IKEA from eastern India.

Together with Reed Kraft, Cecily will help guide Paces Crafts into its next phase—building on our foundation, expanding our reach, and deepening our impact in Jharkhand.
